Free!
I need some families to do whatever I want (for a photoshoot of course!)
Here's the criteria:
- two parents (sorry I know that sounds awful especially coming from a former single mom, but hey, I have a vision.)
- one to three kids, kids should be between the ages of 7 and 16
- You are fashionable (or at least willing to funk it up for the day,) and COMPLETELY into having fun in front of the camera - you will bust out your goofy smile, make fish faces, tell each other bad jokes, and more - everyone has to be on board, even dad and the teenagers. Feel free to jack yourself up on caffeine and sugar before the session.
- You are willing to try to pull this off on a weekday (taking your kids out of school for a photo session is way more fun than the dentist, I promise. )
- You have been wanting a family session
- You are totally willing to leave the location up to me and are up for a modern, unique look.
You will receive your session FREE and can order prints from our regular offerings with a 20% discount on prints larger than 8x10.
So - if this interests you, quick - email me! First come first serve people.
Happy Sunday, I am off to bake apple crisp with the kids.
A little party
A little snipit of our family life - We just got home from celebrating the birthday of Chloe, our favorite 3-year-old.
She warmed up for the party with some present opening -

and was pretty thrilled about the Barbies

She always loves playing for the camera -

Happy Birthday Chloe - you make us smile.
Parker
I am having so much fun blogging the sessions I shot in the few days before I went away. A big kudos to clients for being patient for their sneak peek.
Check out little Parker - can you get over those blue eyes! He is such a cutie, and the way he is holding dad's hand is just a little icing on his adorableness.

Chelsea and Ryan
I am one lucky gal. Already I am looking forward to next year and the wedding of the superfantasticfunkindfunky duo of Chelsea and Ryan.
This couple fell in love with Tofino, (which immediately gave us something in common,) and are coming out from Alberta with friends and family to celebrate their 2009 wedding west coast style.
We have been emailing back and forth for a bit about their wedding and in anticipation for their engagement shoot, so I already knew how darn sweet they were. Now I know how much the camera loves them. Here's just a little sample:

Willa
It is a joy to blog this session as much as it is a joy to photograph with this family. Last time we did a session, their youngest Willa was just not down with the whole thing, so we met up again for a little mini-session to get some happier photos of madame Willa. One of the things I do is offer clients a "no-stress" policy, which means if your little one is having a rough day, we can get together for a few additional images at no cost to you.
I LOVE this one -especially the elbow dimples.

We also grabbed a few more of Willa's sisters. I could not resist blogging this one of Ella -

Thanks for the awesome session, I have so enjoyed getting to know you!!
Bye-Bye Mexico - Hello Home

I have been gone only for 10 days. Really? I feel like I have been away for at least three weeks, which is a good indication as to how relaxing my holiday was. This was my first time doing an all inclusive - now after experiencing it - I SO get it!!!
Selah and I swam, (once for 5 hours straight) and then we read and then we swam. We would do the occasional little outing into the village, and spent one day on an excursion to a secluded island. We laughed a lot and one day my face hurt from smiling. My 5 year old was the ideal travel companion - thinking about the trip brings on a bit of a happy cry.
And now.. I am happy to be here, sitting at my desk blogging and working my way though my to-do pile!
We have lots to blog - sessions, info about Chicks who Click, the Mini-session date and more - so come back soon.
Bye-Bye - Hello Mexico !
I am off on holiday until October 4th. No computer, no bed making, no cooking, no Blackberry PDA (I am admittedly a bit nervous about this one.)
I will be reading, not looking at the clock, enjoying quiet, reflecting and feeling, watching, listening, playing, laughing out loud and undoubtedly feeling inspired.
I think it has been 7 years since I have been away from my computer for this length of time.
I am hoping on a plane with my littlest one and am already excited to return to all the goodness October is bound to bring.
Meanwhile Denise will be keeping it all running around here - so don't shy away from calling us - I will be back full of creative beans and ready to photograph!
See you soon my friends!
Avery
I am heading off on holiday (more about this later) and wasn't going to blog these until I got back but Avery's mom is regular blog reader and I wanted to surprise her with some instant gratification. We met in Cumberland and I loved what happened. Avery is just a beauty!
She was loving the camera right away -

A little helping hands -

And an old school feel, which I think really suits Avery's look here -

Jill + John
Jill and John are good at having a wedding. Thinking about how to convey why that is overwhelms me a bit as there were so many lovely aspects of their day. Their ceremony was filled with unique elements - they had friends speak about aspects of a healthy marriage- it was so personal and the part I liked best was they didn’t know what each personal was going to say, so each speech was like a gift. Speaking of which, a the reception Jill and John gave a thank you letter to each of the guests, letting them know how special they were. This gave me goosebumps.
The icing on the cake (or cupcakes in this case) on all this awesomeness was how hilarious John and Jill, are. They danced up a storm, and their humor kept us smiling and laughing all night.
I should also note, that these two have super amazing friends – (a special shout out to Harold and Leanne whose wedding I photographed and who I adore,) – these are the type of people who add to how blessed I feel to live my life behind a camera.
So onto a little Mt. Washington beauty:

Thanks to Jen for being my side-kick on this one.
Bootcamp psych up
Yes, it is 5 a.m. and I am blogging. Why? Because I am having my morning coffee and gearing myself up - for 6:15 a.m. bootcamp with ELM. Although I am working hard to be 150% positive about it, some mornings it might be a bit of a struggle, so I though if I told ya'll about it, I would feel like a heel if I ran into you on the street and you asked how bootcamp was and I had bailed that week. Nothing like a bit of accountability to the general masses!!! Today is only the second day, and I am still feeling a little good-hurt from the first day. The only problem with that though is the first day was only the fitness testing - so what I am in for today???
